Senior/Accountant, Fixed Assets
Job Purpose
This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Finance Shared Services and lead a team of 4 Senior Accounts Officers to manage the accounting of Fixed Assets (“FA”).
Responsibilities
1. Lead and maintain the FA register including:
a) Accounting for FA additions, disposals, and transfers
b) Ensure gain/loss on disposals are properly accounted for
c) Depreciation of assets
d) Liaise with Business Units (BU), Finance Business Partners (FBP) and Group Finance (GF) teams to:
- Review and assess criteria for capex accruals and capitalization
- Review and follow up with work-in-progress (“WIP”) for asset capitalisation
- Ensure capitalisation is in line with FA policy and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) (SFRS(I))
- Support internal and external reporting relating to FA balances
2. Responsible for managing FA month-end closing process including review of all audit schedules, quarterly reporting packs, government statistics, recoverable reconciliation, depreciation and amortization variance analysis, consolidation package, capital commitments, property, and liability insurance renewal report
3. Lead and coordinate the annual FA count.
4. Interpret key accounting and regulatory technical matters related to fixed asset accounting for agreement with GF and advice to FBP
5. Maintain and update key process documentation such as FA SOPs and SAP manuals.
6. Manage, troubleshoot and advise usage of all FA e-Forms
7. Participate in ad-hoc improvement initiatives and User Acceptance Tests (“UAT”) for system enhancements
8. Prepare FA reports and attend to requests from regulator
9. Support internal and external audits
10. Responsible for the supervision and development of FA staff
11. Other ad-hoc duties
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Accountancy or ACCA
- Possess at least 5 years of relevant working experience with audit background and GL knowledge
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Strong working knowledge of SFRS(I)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Powerpoint) is a must
- Good working knowledge of SAP and BI tools would be an advantage.
