Station Manager, CCL
Job Purpose
The Station Manager (SM) is a frontline supervisor in a station, in charge of the daily station operations, ensuring the station is safe, clean, secure, and all station equipment are serviceable. The SM is also expected to provide excellent customer service. The SM is trained to handle all emergencies in the station, as well as supporting the handling of all situations onboard the trains. SM is also expected to man and drive the train when required. The SM supervises the following staff in the station: Assistant Station Managers (ASMs), Transit Security Personnel (TSPs) and Service Ambassador (SAs).
Responsibilities
The Station Manager is responsible to:
- Lead a team of station staff to work in a fast-paced and customer-facing environment
- Plan, deploy, and supervise the station staff in the execution of their daily activities
- Provide customer service, ticketing and fare related services and enforcement
- Provide an efficient rail services
- Provide a safe and secure environment for both staff and commuters
- Manage access control for maintenance teams and/or service providers to perform maintenance work on rail systems and/or station facilities
- Conduct regular inspections of station premises and facilities to ensure station equipment are operational
- Manage the serviceability of station equipment and manages access control for maintenance teams and/or service providers.
- Monitor commuter flow and manages crowds during peak hours and/or during service degradation
- Lead the implementation of Rail Incident Management Plan and/or emergencies in the railway premises
- Provide first aid and assistance to commuters in need
- Responsible for putting up all necessary reports as part of his duty
- Manages staff welfare and performance
- Carry out first-line recovery of station, train and trackside faults
- Perform train duties when necessary
- Attend Fire Safety course and serve as a Fire Safety Manager when required.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma in an Engineering discipline.
- Able to work on 2 rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Supervisory working experiences or frontline customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess strong situational awareness and able to react quickly to a diverse range of incidents
- Experience in railway industry or frontline operations in public transport is preferred.
