Station Manager (TEL)
Job Purpose
As a Station Manager (SM), you shall lead the Assistant Station Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the stations and trains, to ensure a safe, secured, reliable, efficient, and service-oriented operation of the railway station network. This position is engaged in safety critical tasks and will be subjected to medical prerequisites to certify fitness to work in such a position and will be provided training to be certified competent.
Responsibilities
- Safety and Security
1.1. Comply with safety and security requirements.
1.2. Ensure commuters’ safety when travelling in the railway network, such as during boarding and alighting, on escalators, and on train.
1.3. Conduct and/or Supervise inspections and checks in station and train.
1.4. Report all incidents and emergency situations. - Reliability
2.1. Perform and/or Supervise railway operations at stations and/or trains, in compliance to statutory, regulatory, and operational requirements.
2.2. Attend to alarms, equipment failure, fault recovery, incidents, RIMP, or emergencies in station and train. Manage and report all incidents and emergency situations.
2.3. Perform and/or Supervise station opening and closing.
2.4. Facilitate and/or Supervise track access by maintenance teams, LTA, contractors, or any other parties.
2.5. Monitor, Perform, and/or supervise first level of maintenance for AFC equipment such as fare gates and ticketing machines. Includes administration of AFC and fare-related requirements.
2.6. Maintain and/or Supervise station and train logistical requirements. - Service – Provide commuter services which includes (but not limited to):
3.1. Address fare-related and directional enquiries,
3.2. Ensure safety and security of commuters,
3.3. Ensure lost properties are recorded and processed accordingly,
3.4. Conduct enforcement in accordance with Rapid Transit System Act, and
3.5. Monitor and maintain station cleanliness. - Workforce Development
4.1. Able to perform shift work.
4.2. Maintain and oversee good conduct and discipline.
4.3. Complete and/or conduct trainings, refreshers timely, and
4.4. Perform and manage administrative duties timely and accurately (leave, OT, claims etc) - Data & Digital
5.1. Utilise digital solutions to enhance work processes. - Financial and ESG
6.1. Be prudent and sustainable in usage of any resources.
6.2. Adopt and apply a kaizen approach at work. - Miscellaneous
7.1. Perform any other tasks or projects as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Work Experience
1. Diploma in Engineering, with preferably with a few years of supervisory experience.
2. Certified Fit to Work by the company’s designated clinic.
Skills
1. Committed to Safety and Kaizen.
2. Certified Competent on all relevant station operation courses or modules, including external courses such as Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and/or Company Emergency Response Team (CERT).
3. Able to multi-task when responding to station operation requirement.
4. Able to communicate clearly and is service-oriented.
5. Able to work in a fast-paced and public-facing environment.
6. Able to lead and supervise teams.
