Technical Officer, FMC

Job Purpose

To administer various contracts such as cleaning, pest control, horticulture, and refuse collection in Circle Line Stations. Liaise with the contractors to maintain a healthy working relationship which translate into high facilities management standards in the Circle Line Stations. Perform and carry out daily policing role in the Stations for works done by cleaning, horticulture, pest control, and refuse collection contractors, and ensure that all works are carried out are in accordance with the relevant Quality Procedures, Specifications & Standards, Work Safety requirements and Railway Operation procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. To perform and carry out daily policing of stations for works done by cleaning, pest control, landscape and refuse collection contractors
  2. To ensure that all works are carried out are in accordance with the relevant Quality Procedures, Specifications & Standards, Work Safety requirements and Railway Operation procedures
  3. To be required to conduct regular inspection of the stations and premises to ensure that the stations and premises maintain high cleaning and housekeeping standards
  4. To liaise with the contractors and build a healthy working relationship with them
  5. To ensure new instructions, circulars, memos and adhoc information are conveyed to the station staff and cleaning contractors in a timely manner
  6. To carry-out the role of PIC duties and responsibilities
  7. To investigate on incident and follow-up actions on the recommendation to prevent recurrence
  8. To maintain proper records of all activities/events and applying for permit to work.
  9. To compile the liquidated damages to be served to the contractors
  10. To prepare and raise reports and orders such as Work Orders and Variation Orders
  11. To assist in the contract administration
  12. To perform other tasks assigned by the Assistant Engineer

Qualifications & Work Experience

  1. Higher NITEC / NITEC in Structure / Buildings / Facilities / Civil Engineering or any other relevant discipline
  2. Supervisory experience in facilities and building maintenance works will be preferred

Skills

  1. Possess good planning skills
  2. Meticulous and show an aptitude for details
  3. Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work independently as well as in a team environment with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  4. Computer literate with good proficiency in MS Office applications
  5. Able to communicate effectively and good team player
