Technical Officer, PMO

Job Purpose

The Technical Officer (TO) is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency and maintenance of shop unit facilities through scheduled inspections, fault diagnosis, and preventive and corrective maintenance. The TO will collaborate with contractors to maintain a high standard of service and address any ACMV issues that arise promptly.

Responsibilities

1. Station Shop Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of station shops to identify and document symptoms and potential defects.
- Update inspection findings and communicate results effectively to relevant stakeholders.
2. Fault Management:
- Act as the SMRT Work Supervisor for shop ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) faults.
- Attend to the faults which requires climbing the ladder to assess the location (includes carrying the ladder).
- Record detailed fault reports and ensure acknowledgment from shop tenants through the Property Officer.
- If issues persist, accurately diagnose faults in collaboration with contractors, and highlight recurrent problems for further investigation.
- Provide updates on follow-up actions to the Supervisor for necessary measures.
3. Inspection Participation:
- Attend pre-AWI, AWI and shop reinstatement to ensure compliance with operational standards.
4. Preventive Maintenance:
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, documenting shop temperature and airflow conditions.
- Communicate findings to supervisor and highlight any symptoms or potential defects identified during maintenance.
5. Corrective Maintenance:
- Oversee scheduled corrective maintenance activities and acknowledge work completed by contractors.
- Ensure all follow-up corrective maintenance actions are documented and reported to the Supervisor for further evaluation and action.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• NITEC in Building Services Technology, Mechanical / Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in operations and maintenance of any of the related systems such as building services, air-conditioning plant will have an added advantage.
• Candidates must also be prepared to perform shifts and occasional night works.

Skills

• Service-oriented with good communication skills and have a keen eye for details.
• Possess knowledge in building services.
• Able to work on shifts including Sunday and Public Holidays and perform overtime (if required)
