Technical Officer, Passenger Service Door (Circle Line)


Job Purpose

Technical Officer works in a team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the railway signaling Platform Screen Door (PSD) System to improve its reliability. He/She assists in the preparation and execution of maintenance activities in a timely manner, as planned by his/her supervisor. He/She should expeditiously respond to faults, troubleshoot, and rectify the fault to recover the equipment in the shortest possible time. He/She also supervises the works of contractors and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to operating requirements, quality standards and safety standards.

Candidate should be capable of communicating effectively within the team and be able to multi-task and can prioritize his/her assigned maintenance workload in supporting maintenance activities.


The duties and responsibilities of a Technical Officer are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and other relevant duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

•    To work safely at all times and highlight unsafe acts, behaviours, and potential hazards to supervisors. 
•    To perform timely preventive/corrective maintenance works on the Platform Screen Doors system, including site investigation, testing, and troubleshooting of faults.
•    To perform tasks in compliance with relevant procedures and instructions contained in Quality Procedures, Work Specifications, Work Instructions, Maintenance Instructions, and any relevant change instructions disseminated.
•    To complete the preventive/corrective maintenance checklist in MOMS according to the performed task.
•    To assist supervisor in completing the necessary reports for the task at hand.
•    To arrange movement of spares for repair and carrying out of work.
•    To expeditiously respond to fault when activated.
•    To carry out the role of 2-Line PIC and PM duties and responsibilities.
•    To collect and analyze faults or events from logs.
•    To carry out any duty as assigned and directed by supervisors.
•    To follow up on faults and record activities, labour, and material in Maintenance Management System. 
•    To perform SPIC duties to provide supervision to the contractors in company premises.
•    To ensure good housekeeping at the workplace.

Qualifications & Work Experience

•    NITEC in Engineering field
•    3-5 years’ experience in maintenance of electrical/mechanical machinery/equipment would be preferred
•    Able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities
•    Able to read simple electrical circuitry and engineering drawing
•  To be assigned to shift pattern (permanent night, 3 rotating shifts, day shifts) based on operation needs or management discretion 


•    Possess basic MS Office skills 
•    Holds a Class 3 driving license
•    Able to interpret electronic/electrical single line drawings, statistical charts, figures, technical measurements, and results
