Technical Officer, Track Infrastructure Maintenance & Operational Engineering
Job Purpose
The Technical Officer, Track Renewal is responsible to perform system wide repair, maintenance and replacement of all track components such as rails, switches and crossings so as to support SMRT in providing safe and reliable train service to our commuters.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a Technical Officer, Track Renewal are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
- Operate an engineering consist (include locomotives), safely and efficiently.
- Comply and execute tasks in accordance to Work Instructions and Procedures.
- Comply and exercise safety at all times in accordance to Safety Procedures.
- Responsible for the safety of self, peers and the track throughout the working period.
- Carry-out the role of person-in-charge (PIC) and preventive maintenance (PM) duties and responsibilities.
- Complete the necessary paper works for the task at hand.
- Complete rail change or built up welding works within a given time frame.
- Perform thermit weldings.
- Plan for Track Renewal weekly schedule.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Nitec in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
- Preferably with at least 1-2 years of experience in field maintenance.
Skills
- Able to communicate effectively and a good team player.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment.
