Digital Learning Designer
Job Purpose
The Digital Learning Designer creates, develops, and manages digital learning materials and experiences to support SMRT's training and development initiatives. He/she works closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and technology teams to design engaging and effective e-learning content. The role involves content development, multimedia production, technology integration, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure high-quality digital learning experiences. Additionally, the designer stays updated with emerging technologies, optimizes learning materials for various platforms, and ensures continuous improvement through feedback and performance data analysis. He/she is analytical and creative, collaborative, a strong communicator, and effective at managing multiple tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of Digital Learning Designer are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
• Content Development: Design and develop digital learning content, including e-learning modules, videos, interactive simulations, and assessments. Ensure content is aligned with learning objectives and instructional design principles.
• Instructional Design: Collaborate with instructional designers to create engaging and effective learning experiences. Apply adult learning theory and best practices in instructional design to enhance learning outcomes.
• Multimedia Production: Create multimedia assets such as graphics, animations, and videos to enhance learning materials. Edit and optimize multimedia content for online delivery.
• Technology Integration: Work with learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms to publish and deliver content. Troubleshoot technical issues related to e-learning content delivery. Monitor and research new developments in emerging technologies related to improving content/multimedia generation and instructional design processes.
• Content Maintenance: Monitor and analyze learner feedback and performance data to make continuous improvements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather content and ensure its accuracy. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of e-learning materials.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on e-learning materials to ensure they meet standards and are free from errors.
Qualifications & Work Experience
• Diploma or Degree in any discipline with minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in training, or multimedia and digital learning content development
• Preferably ACLP or DDDLP qualified, with good knowledge of instructional design and adult learning concepts and techniques
• Strong portfolio showing 2D design skills and demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity
Skills
Technical skills include:
• Good analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong in project management, information management and creative thinking
• Experienced in authoring tools, such as Articulate 360
• Proficient in video creation tools such as Camtasia and Vyond
• Skilled with 2D softwares such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects)
• Knowledgeable in 2D asset creation (infographics and flowcharts)
• Adept at operating DSLR cameras and/or lighting equipment
• Strong attention to detail and able to do independent and thorough quality checking
• Preferably with some experience in facilitating
